Eat More Chicken!

The boys and I had a great weekend together as mommy did the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  We played at the park, played a little Wii, ran around, etc..   The youngest (Sam) is obsessed with Chick-Fil-A and so I took the boys there for dinner on Saturday.  Every night before he goes to bed, Sam asks if we can go to the chicken sandwich Mecca.  He always says, “Go to Chick-Fil-A?  Go to Chick-Fil-A?”  He repeats this over and over again until I say maybe.

I have to admit, I can see why he likes it so much.  I’m not sure what they put in those chicken sandwiches, but they are as addictive as crack cocaine.  The flavorful breaded exterior combined with the juicy chicken makes my mouth water just thinking about it.   Chick-Fil-A  has great shakes, yummy criss-cut fries, and a play place. What more could a 3-year-old boy want.  Plus, they are closed on Sunday to allow their employees to go to church.

Its not great for a guy who is trying to cut weight so he can climb better on a bike, but hey.. You gotta love Chick-Fil-A

  1. I’m giggling inside when I see the three sheep in your masthead and then the three cows with the Eat More Chicken signs. You must be fair and let the chicken’s represent sometime too, my farmyard animal loving brother!

But seriously, I love me some Chick-Fil-A! Of course I do my sandwich without the pickles (cos those are meant for burgers, not chicken) and I always have to have a very large glass of their fresh squeezed lemonade to go with my criss cuts. Then, when I’m all done with that, I say a little prayer in my heart that one of my kids didn’t eat all their nuggets so I can get one last morsel of the chickety goodness.

You forgot to mention a few other Chick-Fil-A bonuses: educational kids meal toys, wet naps, hand sanitizer outside the play place, placemats that stick to the tables for kids who are messy (all kids) and on Tuesdays, a guy that comes in and ties balloon animals for the kiddoes.

Tell me – anyone – what’s not to love about this place. (and don’t say chicken).

  2. Have you recently recovered from a crack cocaine addiction? Cause I’m wondering how exactly you would measure the addictiveness of chick-fil-a sandwich? (heavy sarcasm intended)

We have one Chick-fil-a here in small town Killeen. It is without a doubt my favorite fast food indulgence.

  3. It’s funny that you wrote about this being that I just ate there yesterday! Whoever figured out how to deep fry chicken should be given some sort of an award. Oh, I love it so.

  4. 3 year olds are the best! I love to hear Samuel talk, he could ask me for anything and I would give it to him.

  5. I was induced with Mason on a Saturday morning. On Sunday I sent Steve to Chick-Fil-A for my after birth, can’t eat anymore hospital food, chicken craving, lunch. Well, I was quite disappointed when he called to tell me they were closed (totally forgot). Confession……I thought how can a fast food chain be closed on Sunday, especially on the one day I really wanted my chicken sandwich and criss cut fries with ranch dressing. Good thing tomorrow’s not Sunday.

  6. I tried to take Sam to Chick-fil-A today just to play. We were running errands and passed it three times. So I gave in for a little play time. Just when I thought we could leave he asked for chicken nuggets. I thought it was only the fact that there was a play place that has him asking for it every night after bed but like his dad….there is a serious addiction to the nuggets.
